During exit interviews for the Dallas Mavericks this year, Donnie Nelson was asked about what could make this team better moving forward for next season. He could have said a number of things. i.e: "we need to get Luka more help," "we need to make some changes," even a vague "we'll do better next year" would have been fine.

But no, this guy decided to get on the mic today and target Luka Dončić. Yeah, Luka. The guy who just averaged 36 and 10 to push the series to 7 against one of the best teams in the NBA. Quoting Donnie here, he said "Here's a guy (Luka) that thinks that he can win every possession of every game. His numbers are unique. I think part of his maturity is again knowing how to balance all those kill shots with involving teammates at the right time."

So...did you not watch the series or...? Like I'm seriously baffled, how is Luka supposed to get his teammates even more involved when he's already getting 10 assists a game and arguably deferring too much on drives to the basket.

Couple this quote with countless bad decisions Donnie's made over the last decade, (the 2019 offseason. blowing up the championship team, giving Chandler Parsons a max contract to name just a few), and it's clear that it's time for Donnie to go. 

It's clear that the Mavericks need a General Manager who will get Luka some help, and it's equally clear that Donnie will not get him the help he needs.

Do the right thing, fire him. Today please.
