Peter Doocy, Demand Answers Regarding Wuhan
We demand and deserve answers regarding the role(s) played by the Communist Chinese Party in unleashing this virus onto the world. Our intelligence community has done such work for nearly 2 years and the American people deserve to learn what they've unearthed.
Why were doctors and others attempting to inform the world about the virus "disappeared" immediately after trying to speak out?
Why did China, in full knowledge of the outbreak, allow all outgoing flights while restricting the flow of people into China?
And finally, what is the final, or at least latest, intelligence telling us about the origin of the virus? A lot of information is classified and for very good reason. The public does not need to know every action taken in their defense. And though we have made a mockery of it, the People give us that trust.
Unfortunately, be it through malice, incompetence or bureaucratic mission creep, the precious duty of protecting our constitutional rights has been abandoned and mocked by many of the same bureaucrats tasked with their maintenance.
However, there are very smart and capable analysts within our intelligence services who could conduct a proper analysis, which we can all agree is sorely needed. And they have done so. While I'm sure their work has changed as details have become clearer, we deserve to know what they know after 2 years of a devastating virus that originated in a very small area that just happened to house a Level IV virology lab.
And we demand to see the intel products themselves, constructed by the actual analysts. No summaries written by political appointees. Straight product from the floor.
The intelligence community works for the People of the United States. The extent to which they employ secrecy is commiserate with what is needed to protect ourselves and our allies. Secrecy does not protect our ourselves or allies, unless you're just too afraid to acknowledge reality, in which case this will be an ugly, ugly war that will not end well for our side.
