ISABELLA WOODS CALL TO ACTION
0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!
Right in Evanston, we have remnant swamp oak woods. We have to preserve it before it is gone. Stop the Destruction of Isabella Woods.
We have had some success: on May 18, 2017, Commissioners of the Board of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) unanimously rejected the request by the Cook County Highway Department for an easement to construct a road through Evanston’s Isabella Woods for a private development in Wilmette.
But the story didn't end there: discussion continues about reversing the vote and approving the easement.
Please support of the continued conservation of Isabella Woods and send MWRD a message that its vote on May 18th should be the end of the discussion – don’t allow the destruction of Isabella Woods and our public trust for a private developer’s road.
We, the undersigned, support MWRD’s rejection of a road or road easement through Isabella Woods and ask that the MRWD preserve Isabella Woods and preserve the public’s trust. Don’t destroy Isabella Woods and our trust by reconsidering this issue!
