I am a resident of Marion, Ohio and I am working to peacefully protest the opening of a gun store called BLACK RIFFLE FIREARMS, which will sit between Garfield  park and Harding High school. Kids who walk to the high school will have to go right past the gun store 2 times a day. I strongly believe that in light of all the school shootings in the past, it is not beneficial to our children and young adults to have a gun store so close to an atmosphere that is family oriented and caters to a wide variety of children and minors. There are a great deal of homes in the area as well and if the store were to be burglarized, many families in that area would be susceptible to violence. There is another gun store in that area, but it is a little over a mile down the road and was there a great many years before our high school was built. There are zoning laws which protect the owners right to have his business there, yet they are somewhat tricky. The way the property is zoned, the gun store is outside the city limits, but even though the high school is 2 blocks farther out, the school and the property in front of it, the Stay N Play are considered to be inside the city limits. In conclusion, I have no ill will what so ever towards the owners and I am NOT against gun laws, I believe in a persons right to defend their family and home, I know a great deal of people who own guns  and would like to come to an understanding. Please help and lets do our best to at least get them to relocate and possibly work to put laws in place to keep gun shops out of residential areas. Bless you all!
