Gabriel Yetnikoff started this petition to Marin County Health and Human Services Matt Willis

Small business is the backbone of any local economy. Salons are no exception to that, yet the Marin County Board of Supervisors has made the decision to shut down salons again in spite of Governor Newsom's approval of them. Marin County has the 2nd lowest per-capita rate of COVID cases in any California county. We remain in the red tier. Cosmetologists spend 1600 hours learning Safety and Sanitation practices, and to date, there have been no transmissions reported from salons where everyone wore masks.

My single mother owns a hair salon and is supporting me and my sister through university. This shutdown also neglects all of the families (predominantly women and minority owned) who simply cannot make it through another full shutdown. Their livelihoods are seriously at stake, and Marin County has the power to maintain smart small-business operations. They have chosen to go the other way. The fact that non-essential retail is completely functional, but salons are not is illogical. It is the holiday season, and these salons will not reap any of the benefits of the local economy.
