Petition for walkable cities
Petition for walkable cities
Whereas climate change represents a threat to life on Earth, our representatives do not seem to consider this issue as a priority. This problem is causing irreversible repercussions to the ecosystems. This leads humans and wildlife to face new challenges while having less room to adapt. Global warming is creating extreme weather such as droughts, heat waves, rising sea levels, and storms, which is destroying people’s habitats. Since human activity is the source of this problem, changing its ways could also lead to resolving climate change by reducing carbon emissions.
We, the undersigned residents of the city of Île-Perrot, call upon the mayor Marie-Claude Nichols to offer easily accessible transportation services as well as safe paths for walking and biking as a means to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions of driving.
