End Charges and/or Minimum Spend Levels For Using Contactless Cards

Contactless card functionally has been around for some years now and is often marketed as a no fuss, speedy way to purchase low value items and avoid the cumbersome search for change at the checkout. All points I would have thought benefited any retailer or service provider.
Why therefore are certain establishments either charging or setting minimum spend limits. I don't know precisely where blame lies but I would have thought banks charge on a percentage basis, making a minimum spend level largely superfluous.
This petition therefore is to highlight the issue early before we are a truly cashless society and we end up paying both banks and goods & services providers for the privilege of saving them the time and charges associated with counting and banking cash.
By accepting such charges now, we are setting an unwanted precedent for when there is no alternative. A further tax on the less well off. The practice of providers applying arbitrary charges and minimum spend limits on its customers needs to be either regulated or better still, stopped altogether.
