I should be a senior at sweetwater high school. I have attended this school since kindergarten, and consider most of the faculty &’ students family. On April 17th of 2021 i made a post on facebook regarding the injustice going on in the School, under our principal that has been working their for a little over 2 years. When i came back to school the following day i was not spoken to by the principal at all during school hours, but on my way to the bus she stopped me and told me to come to her office. i told her politely “no, it’s after school hours and my mom did not give me permission to stay with you after school” to which i have plenty witnesses. The principal told me “don’t come back to this school Emma” Me and my mother went to the superintendent who asked me if i was special education, and basically told me to withdraw. i never withdrew and i have not been expelled for 4 months, yet they are still telling me i cannot come to school until a decision has been made. This is a public high school in Alabama. Everything is swept under rugs in the South. Please help me get attention to this. Growing up here has taught me to speak up for what i believe is right. Any injustice i see take place i will 100% use my voice.
