Are you waiting on a council housing waiting list? Have you been waiting a long time? Ten years or more? Are the government ever going to build more social housing? I doubt it. I suggest that people who are in SOCIAL HOUSING that NO LONGER SUITS THEIR NEEDS are made to swap with people who are living in houses that are overcrowded and have been waiting on what seems like a never ending waiting list. Some people are sitting in 2/3 bedroom COUNCIL OWNED properties, and they have no need for them any more, their families no longer live there, why should they sit in a large council house without any need for it when the waiting list grows and grows? If they had wanted to OWN the property, they have the opportunity to BUY it. They do not OWN the property, it is owned by the local council, I propose that they have to swap with people in smaller properties and nobody is left homeless. The current housing crisis calls for something urgent to happen. I believe this is it.
