Spike Rodriguez is known to many in Miami as a giving, kind, and respectable public figure as an amazing tattoo artist. He was a friend to many, as well as the father of my daughter. He has impacted many lives in a positive way. He traveled the country changing minds, allowing other to finding pride and acceptance in being unique. He was not only an amazing father, but amazing friend, who had a heart of gold. In the later years of his life, he was known as a train hopper who would travel the country and spread his art across the nation. Every person he encountered, he left a positive memory. His smile brightened up the room everywhere he entered.

His laughter could cure the worst of sadness. I believe he deserves to have a statue in his honor to commemorate all he has done for the tattoo community, the homeless community, and all who have been outcasted and disowned by their families. He took them in as family and gave them shelter. On many occasions, he has even saved my own life. His life was short, but impacted many lives for the better. All who knew him will speak highly on his behalf.
