It is no news the many struggles and oppositions that RCICs already face in and outside Canada. The usual ground for pressure against RCICs is 'Ghost Consultants' and the need to protect the public.

ICCRC is in the process of introducing a change that will discriminate against RCICs (especially new and inexperienced RCICs) when it comes to their ability to represent clients before administrative tribunals (any of IRB tribunals). A new regulation will require a specialized training (with cost and examination) for RCICs but experienced RCICs can apply for recognition of their experience.

This new requirement will push RCICs (especially newly licensed ones) outside of anything advocacy, which is discriminatory and unfair. This will mean only lawyers here have open access to IRB. ICCRC Board of Directors has lawyers in composition and it is not difficult to see through the real intention here.

RCICs should stand up against this move now before it is too late. Experienced RCICs may think they have nothing to lose, but this is a fight by all and should be treated as such, to stop further hostile act against RCICs.

Thank you as you support this cause.
