"Veganism is a way of living which seeks to exclude, as far as is possible and practicable, all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose." (The Vegan Society)

Marikina has been known for having a lot of food parks and restaurants and there is no doubt that a certain number of people who eat there are vegans. To some of them, it could be a hassle to look for food to eat in restaurants because its meals are meat-based.

The purpose of this petition is for Marikina food parks and restaurants to add a Vegan option in their menus since this can be beneficial to vegans, people who want to experiment on being vegan, and as well as benefit the environment. But, what do vegans eat?

A vegan diet consists of plant-based meals such as fruits, vegetables, beans, etc. In short: they don't consume any animal products.

With that, restaurants are to replace animal-based meals with substitutes such as soy and tofu. This can allow people to try new flavors without contributing to the suffering of animals. Supporting this petition can also make people realize that you are still able to enjoy eating without damaging the environment.

"Veganism is a lifestyle that promotes compassion for an individual's health, environment and to the welfare of animals"
