It is the best way to travel in that area. The most environmentally friendly, cost effective way. And people are semi stranded without it. It's very difficult to get to many of the locations without it.

We, Northern Canadians had no say in the taking away of our train. They took it away without questioning how important it has always been to our wide spread out population, our economy, our tourism, our businesses. Now, on our Northern Ontario highways are many many transports. Summer months, no problem driving past 3 or 4 transports in a row. Try winter driving with 2 transports in a row. WE NEED OUR TRAIN BACK. None of us fully understand why they took it away int he first place. We lost jobs, families had to uproot, communities are dwindling. Almost like that is what someone wanted to happen.

The logging rd I have to take now is never a sure thing, When the loggers move out there will no one t maintain the rd. There are hudreds of camps in and around the area that are not being used as they would with the train. Therefor musch less money taken into Canada. Im pissed

I have sent numerous letters to our politicians and fail to get any answer from them ,including our local one. I was born in goudreau mile178 and we have owned this property since 1928. there were no roads for years ,just between the mines that were running. we had no problem get on the train and there were connections to the rest of Canada ,we are celebrating 150 yrs of this great country and now to get out of the Soo there isn't a train to get you out of here! the rail system has been destroyed for us in the north . southern Ont. gets billions with a blink of a Politian,s eye and we cant get zip? oh ya, the so called road to our camp, well being the fine age of 81 , I have no energy to drive the last 10 klicks on a old mine road when I used to jump the train and be ready to relax at camp!!

This service would benefit the environment, the economy of the surrounding towns, and especially the people who rely this to access their properties!

I have ridden the train to Wawa and to Hearst and witnessed the ways in which the train provides an essential service to the people whose cultural roots and livelihoods are in these remote areas. Speaking as one who supports passenger trains for all, I urge the federal and provincial governments to make a commitment to this effort by the Missanabie Cree First Nation to develop a service that is clearly needed and that has tremendous potential to benefit Northern Ontario.
