The Mar-Va Theater’s showing of The Rocky Horror Picture show is 21+ only this year, when it was always 17+ before, because alcohol is being distributed, and it was decided that it would be easier to card everyone at the door rather than when distributing drinks. We would be thrilled if the Mar-Va Theater’s Board of Directors would reverse their decision and instead opt for providing wristbands to those who are 21+ when they arrive.

Over covid, my friends and I missed our high school graduation, we missed half of senior year, senior prom, family gatherings, weddings, and all of the milestones we were supposed to celebrate, but we were just talking the other day, how Rocky Horror at thr Mar-Va is what we missed more than any of those things. It’s always been my favorite night of the year at my favorite place in the world. It’s a night where nobody tells us “calm down” or “that’s weird” “you don’t belong.” I have been checking the Mar-Va’s website every few days since July to see if it’s finally happening again this year. Today, I checked and it was! I got so excited until I read the rest. Now we’re not allowed to go? We have costumes. We have the audience script memorized, and we would love to be there.
