Teachers need more support, schools need the government to open their pocket books and provide more cleaning supplies, staff, smaller class sizes.

Maintain the physical health of children and their teachers while ensuring their development is continued so they can learn to be free thinkers rather than goose steppers!

I care about the health of our children, teachers and communities. Too much risk is being forced upon classes from what I have seen.

Our schools needed better funding before the pandemic. The lack of funding and support they have received to help them during this pandemic is even more unacceptable.

Brian doesn’t care about our children or us. When the education minister and the health minister are anti vax you know we have problems.

The plan for Manitoba’s children is not well thought out

The province forces the schools to reopen, and doesn't offer online learning options for families, are putting the staffs, students and their families at risk.

We can do so much better!

My grade 4 son is in a class of 30 with 1 teacher. Their class has been relocated to the gym, as well as the grade 5/6 class which my daughter is in. Both classes are sharing the gym. Both teachers have to talk at the same time in the same room, it is a small gym. I believe the gr 5/6 class is about 27/28 kids, with 1 teacher. Apparently our school was not approved funding to hire another teacher. The privately owned before and after program is also using that gym and will be leaving minutes before students enter. It is a small gym with no windows. They cannot keep them spaced out enough to not wear a mask so they are expected to wear one for the 6.5 hrs they are there (minus outside time). They have empty classrooms, and only 6 teacher for 8 levels: N, K, 1/2, 2/3, 4, 5/6. Instead of hiring 1 more teacher and ensuring physical distancing so the kids could have mask free desk time, they have to squish them in the gym. These two classes plus before and after program are a cohort bigger than 70.

I am a teacher and I am returning to work after being a stay at home mom/homeschool parent. I am going to be subbing this year. I was told I had to wait until mid August to apply and WSD has not even posted to hire additional subs for this school yr yet, when before covid, they already didn't have enough subs and the principal was often having to cover.

My husband is a teacher in a French middle school. The policies are procedures we are hearing from the many schools we are connected with are unrealistic and impractical and are not sustainable. So many parents in our neighbourhood are sad, upset, and disappointed in our government for tying the hands and freezing the spending of our schools.

Families deserve to trust that their local politics leaders - as well as school leaders - have ONLY the safety of an entire community at the centre of the conversation. Schools are doing great work as usual and it’s time that they get the support they need.
