The current restrictions and new modifications regarding licensed premises do not permit musicians to perform, even if all the other restrictions are followed. This flies in the face of common sense, as the new restrictions permit large organized rehearsals, and music specific venues to open at reduced capacity.

Further, fitness centers are places where people are continually passing around equipment for use, and the act of exercising raises the respiratory rate and force. Neither of these are true for musicians, with few exceptions.

The lockdowns are killing the local music industry, and destroying the comradery and musical network that is strong and well developed in Winnipeg. 

The people signing this petition insist that our leaders treat our industry no different from any other, and permit us to perform in any venue that will have us.
