I do not see the need for extracting frack sand. The oil sands are a dead issue. And we do not need the environmental impact of the mine or transporting the sand here in Manitoba.

First, fracking has a heinous effect on the environment (though Alberta allows it). Second, fossil fuels have to be replaced as an energy source. Finally the spectre of this activity on the Interlake further threatens our precious lake.

This is not the kind of industry that we need in our province, defacing our environment to support an environmentally unfriendly practice is the US.

Many communities on the west shore rely on tourism. Regardless of your opinion on the environmental impacts, huge barges going across the lake certainly wouldn't be appealing to tourists.

Fracking is destructive to the environment and silica sand can lead to extreme health problems. Moreover we need to turn towards environmentally sound and renewable energy sources.

How can an environmental license be issued to a company that destroys the environment! No fracking anything on Mother Earth!
