No classes at Manheim Township High School due to COVID-19(Coronavirus)
The Issue
Manheim Township School District is a large school district with roughly 5,000 students in Lancaster, PA. As of March 11, 2020, many campuses and school districts have shut down and/or switched to remote learning as the result of the rapid spread of COVID-19. Campuses include Millersville University, West Chester University, and Bucknell University, which are all going into remote learning, and Dickinson College has extended their spring break until the 21st. School districts include Lower Merion School District, Upper Merion School District, Norristown Area School District, and Palmyra School District. These are all schools/universities that I'm aware of, there could be more. This is happening to take caution, for serious health concerns. 10+ cases have already been confirmed in PA, and as we all know Lancaster is a huge commuter hub, so the spread of COVID-19 to Lancaster is inevitable. The students, staff, and parents of Manheim Township are seriously concerned about their health and are asking to at least go into remote learning or extend the spring break until further notice. Please sign this petition, and help influence Manheim Township School District to do what's most important, which is keeping their students safe.
