This behavior, by the NYPD, is totally unacceptable!
Mr Hayden has every right to cover police activity in public places, OK'd by by U.S. Attorney General Holder.
Do the correct thing and let Mr Hayden go about his business, without being arrested, as a citizen of this country.

This is a fundamental attack on civil rights. It's a sign of the deep entrenchment of racism, classism and grave elitism in American society today.

As a working professional in upper management, (who until very recently, lived in NYC) I hire unbiased 3rd parties to audit my company as a check and balance. There is no such entity to monitor the police other than the 'people' themselves. If such injustices against civilians by the police were dealt with and eliminated, the people would not need to monitor the supposed 'protecting' body. As such, the actions of Mr. Joseph Hayden are welcomed by the civilian population, and should not be retaliated against in this way. How ironic that he is now victim of the actions he sought to deter. I strongly urge you to drop the charges against Mr. Hayden.

This is important because it is a threat against the First Amendment Rights of a descent law-abiding American who represents and cares for his community and the police to enlist to serve and protect with courtesy and professionalism. This is important because Mr. Hayden's actions are the sought of exemplary conduct that ought to be contagious and embraced by every person of color across this country who feels threatened, harassed, racially profiled or wrongfully accused by rogue police officers.

We need to end this practice of stop and frisk. It is unconstitutional and racist. I believe this man, Mr. Hayden, is being singled out for his vigilance in documenting the actions of the NYPD. I hope these ridiculous charges are dismissed.
