Re-consult & Amend the Kindergarten Central Registration Procedure for 2014/15 onwards
This petition made change with 711 supporters!
We are seeking your support to demonstrate to Frankston City Council the level of concern amongst parents and educators within the community in relation to their recent amendments to the Kindergarten Enrolment Policy (introduction of ballot system).
We are seeking the following:
· To scrap the new Kindergarten Enrolment Policy (ballot system) due to inadequate consultation by Frankston City Council with relevant stakeholders (parents/carers with children due to attend kindergarten from 2015 onwards, educators).
· To undertake a new consultation process to develop an enrolment policy that takes into consideration:
o Consistency between 3 & 4 year old kindergarten years in line with the Early Learning Years Framework.
o The proximity of the family to the kindergarten (reliance on walking/public transport/car-pooling)
o Family connections to the kindergarten (sibling clause)
o Special circumstances
To help petition the Council and see the ballot system enrolment policy amended, please sign this online petition and spread the word to any families directly affected.
We greatly appreciate you taking the time to support this important issue in recognising the value of early learning years development!
