Neha Bhatia started this petition to Brian Kemp (Governor) and

We, the residents of Cobb County, Georgia petition the county and the State to make Mask Wearing in Georgia Compulsory, by order, for at least one year, in both indoor and outdoor public spaces.

Mask wearing may not be the fool-proof way of preventing the spread of Covid-19, but wearing a Mask along with keeping a distance of 6 feet is the single most advisory and compulsory measure being followed anywhere in the world amidst the pandemic. In indoor and outdoor public spaces like Retail Stores, Restaurants, Public Transport,  etc., even if an individual wears a mask and keeps a distance of 6 feet, the other individuals may not do so and hence the spread of the Coronavirus is very likely to remain a threat in the days to come.

We want our kids to go back to school, without the fear of Coronavirus lurking in our minds every single day they are out to get education in the school environment. We do not know, when this pandemic is likely to end.

In view of the above, we demand that the Mask Wearing be made compulsory, with exceptions, wherever deemed necessary by the State,  for an year, in both outdoor and indoor public spaces in the State of Georgia.

Unless there is a state order, there will always be individuals around us who would prefer not to wear the mask and hence the COVID-19 spread is less likely to end early. Until this pandemic ends, we shall never be able to feel okay while sending our kids to schools.
