92% of all UW-Madison students come from areas without mandatory comprehensive sex education. This means 92% of incoming UW-Madison students have received unsatisfactory, abstinence-only sex education, if any. 

Studies on comprehensive sex education have demonstrated that it reduces the rates of sexual risk behaviors, sexually transmitted infections, and adolescent pregnancy. UW-Madison students deserve the autonomy and our community deserves the sense of safety provided by comprehensive sex education. 

UW-Madison should include a comprehensive sex education course as part of its General Education Requirements in order to show its students and the Madison community that they value their health, safety, and autonomy.
