Myself and my sister were sexually abused by our uncle who fully understood what he was doing at the time.  I was just 6 years old. This went on for many years. 

We didn’t know each other was being abused at the time until we came forward which was so hard for us both. We went through video evidence. It took a lot of courage to go through all of that information and re living the nightmare. It was horrific to say the least. 

later down the line he suffered a brain injury which has stopped me and my sisters case with the police and cps. 
we have a family member who has seen him a good few times. She believes he’s well enough to give his take on the situation and that the tests he had he faked how bad he actually is.  

they have stated he is not in a fit state to defend himself. He was tested by an independent specialist apparently.
however me and my sister still suffer until this day. We need some justice. 
we have suffered all our lives with depression and myself I suffered from a psychotic episode. 

If we was to win this petition justice will be served. HE will get exactly what he deserves. He will suffer just like we have all these years. 

Myself and my sister can never change the past or what happened however we can try to shape the future and help others who have experience the same. When abusers are convicted and brought to justice you can take some satisfaction knowing they will pay the consequences and suffer for all the harm they have caused, with this said it still doesn’t change what happened or bring closure. Imagine not being able to have any of this and be told no case closed.
