Today I read a story about a lady whose 4 year old child ran on to a Metrolink tram in Greater Manchester ahead of her while she was struggling to fold her pushchair. The tram doors shut and the tram drove away with her child on board, leaving her on the platform. Thankfully Mum and Daughter were reunited shortly afterwards. I'm a parent of a toddler and empathise; my boy could conceivably do the same. I read this story in the Manchester Evening News and felt for how terrified this lady must have been. What I did not anticipate were the 116 comments; at least 95% of which were nothing short of disgusting. Comments on her physical appearance and parenting ability were dominant.
