Protecting Parrish. Concerns about growth in our area.

Protecting Parrish. Concerns about growth in our area.
Is the County doing enough to protect Parrish? Here are a list of some things we all need to be concerned about and should get answers to regarding the planned zoning change at 5300 Spencer Parrish Road. But, in reality, it is about so much more!!
This is our community!
1-NORTH CENTRAL OVERLAY
Will this property conform to the NCO as it stands or have they requested/do they plan to request waivers? If already requested, has it been granted already?
2- TRAFFIC LOAD
The surrounding roads are all 2-lane roads:
Spencer Parrish
Golf Course
Fort Hamer
The County Roads in the area are also all 2-lane roads:
County Road 675/Rutland Road
County Road 62
Fort Hamer is already a nightmare (from State Road 70 to US 301) during the week during rush hour and school pick up hours; and when there is an accident on 75, it just gets worse. Spencer Parrish is not wide enough to accommodate large vehicles and oncoming traffic frequently has to yield by going off road when passing a large vehicle. Speeding is increasingly becoming an issue on Spencer Parrish Road also.
Current construction already started in Cross Creek, Canoe Creek, Twin Rivers and on the corner of Golf Course and Fort Hamer (WindWater) is going to add to the existing strain on the roads. Furthermore, the construction on County Road 62 (don't know the name of the subdivision) is going to increase the load on the County Roads.
What is the plan for hurricane evacuation routes in light of all of the additional homes being added?
3-STORM WATER RUNOFF
Current construction already started in Cross Creek, Canoe Creek, Twin Rivers and on the corner of Golf Course and Fort Hamer (WindWater) is going to increase the storm water runoff. Golf Course Road already ponds at the two entrances to Gamble Creek Estates when there is a heavy rain. Gamble Creek Preserve has already experienced minor issues with water over the road in the last couple of large rain events.
How much of a strain will all of this new construction add to our area and to the areas that are “downstream”?
How do the new flood maps that go into effect Aug 10 affect the decisions being made by the County?
4-WATER SUPPLY
What impact does the new construction have on the water supply?
5-POLICE/FIRE/EMS
Will the Fire/Police/EMS be able to keep up with the demands of a growing population?
6-EMERGENCY SHELTERS
Will additional Emergency Shelters be built to accommodate the growing population?
7- SCHOOLS/PRESCHOOLS
From a recent article in the PVN, it sounds like there is already waiting lists for preschools. What is the county’s Plans for accommodating the increased population?
8-WILDLIFE/GREENSPACE
What is the County’s plan to protect existing wildlife and greenspace in the community to keep from increasing the carbon footprint of our area?
