Petition in Support of Murphy Family Building Point Dume Dream Home
0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!
We live in Point Dume.
The Murphy family has submitted plans to build their home in Point Dume located at 6701 Portshead Road on an "undeveloped parcel totaling approximately 2.54 acres." According to the Malibu City report: the project is a "two-story,
28-foot tall, 6,788 square foot single-family residence with an attached four-car garage, 730 square foot basement, 160 square foot cellar, fencing, grading, drainage improvements, landscaping, and new AOWTS."
According to a Next Door Post by Chris Murphy, the owner: "Our only intention was to build our dream home that we could raise our children into respectable adults. That Paula and I could grow old here and eventually have grandchildren that could visit and tap into the magic of this place."
On July 17, Jeff Katz and Jae Flora Katz sent a letter to the City of Malibu opposing the approval of the project.
The Malibu City Planning Commission report dated July 27, 2017 provides:
"The required findings can be made that the proposed project complies with
the LCP and MMC. Further, the Planning Department’s findings of fact are supported by substantial evidence in the record. Based on the analysis contained in this report and the accompanying resolution, staff recommends approval of this project, subject to the conditions of approval contained in Section 5 (Conditions of Approval) of Planning Commission Resolution No. 17-39." We believe it is important that we support families who comply with the Malibu Land Use provisions.
We hope that you will join us in supporting the Murphy Family and allow them to build their home and contribute to making Malibu a wonderful place to live and raise a family.
Thank you for your service.
