We need water in the rivers from the source to sea

Our family feels very lucky to live in the ACT. The tap water in our home comes straight from the mountains, close to the source.
Other parts of the Murray-Darling Basin have not been so lucky. In parts of the lower Darling, creek beds have been turned into dust bowls. The mouth of the mighty Murray river has run completely dry a number of times in recent years.
As an artist often working with First Nation communities and peoples, I have had the benefit of learning first hand about the challenges the rivers face, as well as the importance to broader community and culture.
Our rivers are our lifeblood. Right now, they need our help to survive and maintain the health of the surrounding ecosystems and people.
We need the government to step up and make sure that the Murray-Darling Basin plan is implemented in full and on time. We also call for the full allocation of river water to stay in the river.
We want river communities to not just survive but to thrive. These communities are our food bowl and we need them to be able to flourish so we can all live well.
We call on Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull to finish what he started to implement the MDB plan in full and on time and to finish what he started.
Please sign the petition so we can show that communities all over the basin care about our rivers.
