GMO food should be labelled .

Simon Mulvany
Melbourne, Australia

May 8, 2017 — The same chemicals that are killing bees are killing us. There is barely any foods at the supermarket including honey that do not contain chemicals used in GMO farming. Even some food labelled Certified organic has residue from GMO chemicals. When we refer to GMO we are talking about greedy farming practices that involve mutating seeds to withstand the Monsanto's chemical #roundup #glyphosate. These crops are called roundup ready crops . Grown as monocultures the whole crop is sprayed with roundup which kills the weeds but the mutated plants survive.
Glyphosate is toxic and may contribute to cancer. It is banned in France , Malta , Sri Lanka , Netherlands with other countries soon to follow. GMO seeds are also dipped in neonicotinoid insecticides made buy #Bayer making the whole plant poison. 90 percent of people want GMO food labelled yet in Australia yet this is not the case. The same company's that lobby politicians also pay the mainstream media. Social media is crucial to this battle. We have to start trying to starve the beast which is why education and social media is so important. We need authentic information rather than biased journalism that is reliant on the disease of greedy corporations.
Below are a few examples of companies that continue to lobby government to make sure GMO labelling of food isn't made compulsory.
Campbell’s CocaCola Heinz Kellogg’s Kraft #Nestle PepsiCo The "Big 6" pesticide and GMO corporations are BASF Bayer Dupont Dow Chemical Company Monsanto Syngenta .
