Domestic violence in Australia being either women, men or family violence is rising and statistics are hitting the roof. The majority of domestic violence victims in Australia are women, and this is most likely to be perpetrated by a man. At the same time, female domestic violence against men in all types of relationships occur too and more frequently than you think.

11 recorded deaths in Australia within one month in October have been recorded, it’s time to make change before the number rises higher. On average, one women in Australia a week is murdered by her current or former partner. Men’s violence against women is not the only form of violence although.

Both percentage of men and women who have been in an abuse relationship within Australia has rose over the years and will continue to rise if nothing is done about it. Intimate partner violence is a leading contributor to illness, disability and pre mature death for women aged 18-44, costing the Australian economy $22 billion each year. Domestic and family violence is also the leading cause of homelessness in Australians. Don’t you think it’s time to make change?

We can all come together as Australia of both women and men and fight for harsher punishment for domestic violence offenders! Harsher punishment which can have a victim feel safe, as many cases recorded of domestic violence have still continued even after court cases.
