End Shark Culling In Australia

At the moment many sharks are being unfairly killed in Australia because they rarely kill humans. Each year there is an average of 10 humans killed by sharks in the whole world, while it has been estimated that 100 millions sharks are killed each year by people. It is also estimated that humans kill 11 417 each hour. This is completely unfair and unreasonable. They are mostly killed by shark netting and baited drum lines, which also accidently kill other sea creatures such as turtles, dolphins and dugongs in what is known as “bycatch”. These are also out-dated methods of keeping sharks away as new technologies have been and are being developed that can safely keep sharks away. The Australian government needs to end shark culling and replace it with methods that don’t hurt the sharks!
