Constitutional Recognition for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians
This petition had 144 supporters
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders deserve to be recognised as the first Australians in the Australian Constitution. Australia as a country also needs to remove racist parts of the Constitution such as Section 51(xxvi).
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders deserve recognition as the first peoples as they were the initial inhabitants of Australia and the Australian Constitution needs to acknowledge this to have a fair and accepting society.
