Adani: Australia's Biggest Backwards Step

Despite Australia's pledge to reduce carbon emissions and aim towards a cleaner, greener future, Prime Minister Turnbull and the Queensland Government have given the all clear to one of the biggest proposed coal mine sites in the world.
The Carmichael Project is a proposed coal mine located in central Queensland spanning a land-scarring 20x30km in size. To facilitate the mine there is also a proposed new rail line extending from the mine site to Abbott Point where the coal would be shipped out across the Great Barrier Reef.
At the moment, the Adani Group have not yet secured funding for the railline. We need to stop the government from lending 1 Billion dollars of tax payer money to this project. Without the loan, the project is likely not to go ahead.
The catastrophic effects of this proposition can not be understated. We, the young people of Australia and the inheritors of this earth do not want dirty coal to be a part of our future.
Jobs exist in clean energy too. Out with the coal, in with the new.
