Due to the recent outbreaks enclosed by Western, the staff have not been moving all students whom have been tested positive or in close contact with those who have been tested positive to, the designated Covid hotel. Meaning, a great risk for many students who have been trying extremely hard to stay safe. If Western isn't going to take appropriate action to keeping their students safe then why must we stay here, go to in person classes and in person exams. I can speak for many when I say: I'd rather isolate in my own home, or in my dorm where I can peacefully do school work and exams without worrying about the virus. Not to mention the students who don't care about isolating, putting on masks and overall keeping their peers safe. 

We have been in this pandemic for 2 years now, Western should have proper protocols put in place. The staff should have already been trained and prepared. 

Let's also recall all the "Need To Talk" posters hung around Western. The school preaches mental health, although it's really difficult to keep a positive outlook at the school with the constant unfortunate events that seem to occur on top of school work, exams and the new Covid variant. It's been an extremely rough semester nobody should be isolating during their limited free time throughout the holidays. We want to see our family's and we want to keep them safe.  

With many exams being placed in classes that hold over 100 people this causes great risk for the spread as there is limited social distancing involved.

I plead that Western, places exams online before the spread continues to get worse. Students sincerely appreciate the effort to have in person classes although the new variant is inevitable and I believe our best bet is to isolate and take precaution immediately to hopefully further continue in person classes throughout the second semester.
