MAKE YOUR MARK, SO YOU CAN PARK!

This petition has been set up to object to the plans laid out by Kirklees Council and to generate support from the local residents and businesses who will be affected by the proposed order to prohibit any waiting of vehicles at any time on Cemetery Road, Heckmondwike.

The reasons for our objection are as follows:

-It is damaging to the Residents and Local Business on Cemetery Road, some of whom have been established there for over 30 years

-Both Local Business and Residents will suffer financially at the hands of Kirklees Council's 'new scheme' set to generate an extra £160,000 income per year

-Customers/Consumers of Heckmondwike Town Centre are being forced to shop elsewhere due to the current lack of spaces to park their car. This is frustrating not only for those consumers, but also for the retailers and the general economy of Heckmondwike Town Centre.

-Cemetery Road does not and will not have a direct affect on the proposed Transport Hub set to be built and be available by March 2015; buses will leave the transport hub via George Street and enter the A638 (as normal) via Northgate and therefore the regulation of traffic and parking on Cemetery Road has no logical explanation other than to generate more income from Heckmondwike's already struggling residents and local business.

We are asking for your signature to support an objection to this order and to stop Kirklees Council from regulating in this way, the traffic and parking on Cemetery Road, Heckmondwike.

Please help support this petition by simply providing your signature, name and address and finally a brief message about how this order will affect you.

Tell your friends to help support our petition and help the residents and local businesses stand up to the 'bullyboy tactics' being displayed by Kirklees Council. Make Your Mark Today, So You Can Park Tomorrow!
