The current location of the New York City SAG-AFTRA office holds no strategic location whatsoever to the film and television industry. It is office space that costs an enormous amount of money to which members Union dues are going to. New York City currently has a humongous inventory of vacant commercial office space available. There are many locations that would be cheaper and more strategically located to the major film and television studios in New York City. If the office moved into a less expensive office space Union members' dues could be used for other things.
