Why this petition matters

Started by Therese Lane

The Prime Minister has announced aNational Holiday on September 19/22 as a Day of Mourning to honour the death of Queen Elizabeth II . However Ontario Premier Doug Ford has refused to make it a  Provincial holiday. Ontario along with the rest of Canada are part of the Commonwealth , the Queen was head of our country. For many of us she has been the only Monarch we have known and this is a sad and historical moment and we deserve to mourn, reflect, and celebrate her life.

We urge the Ontario Premier to change his mind and make September 19/22 a Provincial Holiday
