Its just come to my attention that Carnival cruises has decided to change majority of their cruises to go to the Great Barrier Reef this year.
The Reef should be protected and not subjected to massive amounts of damage from cruise ship pollution.

The company has made this decision saying it would help boost Aus economy after Covid, but an economy boost is not worth destroying marine life and ecosystems.

Hey fellow supporters, here's 2 other great videos you may like to share on social media etc,
- from The Guardian. Search for "The Frant: Australia still doesn't have a real climate policy. Why are we like this?" on out Tube.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-C7T8cGZY8&t=96s

-from Greenpeace and brilliant, gutsy independent journalist Michael West, search for "Dirty Power: Big Coal’s network of influence over the coalition government" on YouTube.

Australians' laid-back nature is a beautiful quality and we will find ways to protest corruption in ethical and peaceful ways. You know what the easiest way is? Stop giving your vote to the big parties who have no filter on from whom they accept political "donations"!

Because believe me, they are taking so many of these 'donations' from big corporates that want policy bent to their will, such as fossil fuel, they've allowed themselves to be utterly corrupted by their donors. They're not interested in what the people of Australia want anymore. They answer to the likes of The Minerals Council. So sad, and so pathetic.

That's it. Of course write letters, write emails, organise peaceful sit-ins and walks etc , all of that. Let them know they're not getting away with selling our beautiful country, with forcing our native animals & reef to extinction, to ruining our water, air, and soil quality.

But the best and most most important thing you can do? Start looking for political parties and independent candidates who don't accept political donations from big corporate and their individual associates (like your Gina Rinehardts etc). This is what we need to stop. It's killing our native animals and pushing climate change to the brink of no-return.

Stop voting like it's a sporting match, where you picked a 'side' as a youth (probably brainwashed by your parents) and pigheadedly vote that same way all of your life. That's stupid. People change, times change, the needs of our nation change. Learn what your candidates actually stand for and whether they accept fundraising from big corporates like coal and gas, and give your precious vote, case by case to the party and people who actually fucking deserve it.

No political party deserves your lifelong loyalty on blind faith, wake up. Make them earn your loyalty and change your voting behaviours as much as you bloody want, that's how we keep the bastards honest!

Because you know what? Maybe we can't stop the big disgusting corporates like fossil fuel from seducing our weak and spineless politicians in the big parties, but there's one thing we as ordinary people have power over that corporates don't: Corporates don't get a vote. You do. Don't waste it handing power over to parties that don't care what you want.

We have to keep shaming our government, its not ineptitude at the core of Australia's lack of climate action - it's CORRUPTION.

Other countries in the world have made Mother Earth a citizen and rightfully so. She works harder than any of us, gives back more and without her we all perish. Now it's time to protect her so she can keep giving to future generations.
It's time.
