I believe that the skirts required for many school sports could cause a variety of problems in a child’s life. They can make students feel uncomfortable for a number of reasons. For example, skirts could make trans students feel uncomfortable or dysphoric (psychological distress that results from an incongruence between one's sex assigned at birth and one's gender identity) while they are playing their sports. We also feel that other students could feel uncomfortable while playing. They could feel like they need to look pretty while playing sports because of these skirts. Everyone should be able to feel comfortable and confident while participating in the sports they enjoy.
