Glenorchy currently has bi-monthly rubbish collection and once a month recycling. This is an area where a lot of individuals rent or house share, and so many of the households have 3-4+ people living in them. The houses and yards are full of trash bags because many people have no other option. The health of the people in the area, the health of the environment that is being littered because of this trickle effect, and the standing we have to live in is keeping the community down. 
If you want weekly collection you have to pay a separate company through the council to have it. This is outrageous. We shouldn’t have no other option for trash collection then just to sit in it. I lived two minutes down the road in West Moonah and we had weekly collection there. 
we need the Glenorchy City council to care and take action. Make bin collections the same as every other suburb. Weekly!
