The roof of pond road middle school constantly leaks every time it rains. This results in some parts of the building not being able to be used properly. For example, when it rains, the gym has to be used for just dance instead of the regularly scheduled activities that normally take place. There is also the added risk of mold and other fungi growing inside of the school which would be a hazard to the health of the students and staff at the school. One incident was recalled among the student body. This incident will now be recalled by a student who prefers not to be named. "I was at my locker getting my things for my first class. That was when it happened, the lights completely cut out. All around me, I could hear the screams of my fellow classmates as they were startled by the sudden interruption of their sight. Then as fast as it started phone flashlights were turned on in order to try and regain sight. The teachers were as confused as us and simply told us to go to class. We were then told that this was the first time in over 8+ years since this happened. luckily after only 5 mins, the power went back on." On this day, it was raining so most people assumed that the water must have touched an exposed wire which caused a short.
