Why this petition matters

Started by Alina Catrinar

Great Britain is well known for its love for deers and other wild animals.

All life is sacred and people should do everything in their power to help protect life.

According to DeerAware.com, in the UK there are an estimated 1.5 million wild deer, there are six primary types of deer, each of which varies in size from little to large, and more than 74,000 deer-related accidents occur in the United Kingdom each year. As a result, each year, several hundred people are injured and a few people die.

Given the fact that the government collects road tax they should ensure roads are safe to be driven on. It is unfair for people to have to go through the aftermath of a road collision involving a deer, this includes extensive damage to the car which brings on costly repairs, but also the emotional impact of having killed an innocent animal, and all due to the authorities inability to take proper measures to protect wildlife around motorways.

In order to make roads safer for both the drivers and the wild life the government and local authorities should install fencing along the motorways in order to stop deers from jumping into traffic.

Please sign this petition and maybe we can attract the interest of the people best suited to protect road users.
