Make Pleasant Street safe for Neighbors and Children

Make Pleasant Street safe for Neighbors and Children
Our goal is for the town of Milton to convert 7-68 Pleasant Street from a one-way road to a two-way dead-end, ending at the Falconi Company owned commercial property, 7 Pleasant street (Revive/etc.). This would change the access to the residences of Pleasant St. and Jill Kathleen from Rt. 28/Randolph Ave. to the entrance of Pleasant St. and Quarry Ln. A benefit of this conversion would be added safety measures being implemented at the intersection of Quarry Ln., Pleasant St.and Reedsdale Rd.
Current residents and visitors of this neighborhood have either been involved in or have witnessed accidents and *many* close calls on both ends of the street. We've also noticed increased traffic over the years, which has been accompanied by speeders, large trucks/commercial vehicles, non-residents driving the wrong direction down the one-way, and so on. The dangers posed by this increase in transient, non-residential traffic are compounded when you consider that the streets impacted (Quarry Lane, Jill Kathleen, 7-68 Pleasant) are home to more than 35 children all under the age of 12.
Residents have also witnessed many accidents at the corner of Pleasant St. and Quarry Ln. This seems to be a result of drivers not adhering to speed limits on Pleasant St. as well as not stopping at the stop sign on the corner of Pleasant St. and Quarry Ln. Many children gather for the school bus at this corner along with the corner of Jill Kathleen Ln. and Pleasant St. making it a huge safety hazard.
The goal of this petition is to ultimately ensure the streets are safe for all the children and families living in this neighborhood and beyond. Please help in this movement and sign this petition as a first step in making a change!
