Pike Street should be completely closed to car traffic. Cars are not particularly beautiful, and them being parked right in front of Pike Place Market makes Pike Place look more unattractive. It is also dangerous since people always hop across the street, sometimes right in front of cars that they don’t see and almost get hit. People wouldn’t feel cramped onto the sidewalk, and it would add a nice vibe. Local businesses could have more outdoor city, and it would be great for everyone. We can’t sacrifice a better vibe of Seattle for just 50-75 parking spots. This is why I am proposing to completely close Pike Street to cars.
