WE STAND WITH OUR AMERICAN FRIENDS #BLACKLIVESMATTER #ALLBLACKLIVESMATTER

WE STAND IN SOLIDARITY WITH YOU BUT WE STAND ON STOLEN LAND THAT WAS NEVER CEDED. ALWAYS WAS, ALWAYS WILL BE ABORIGINAL LAND

IF YOU SIGN THIS PETITION, PLEASE MAKE A COMPLAINT TO THE AUSTRALIAN PRESS COUNCIL HERE https://www.presscouncil.org.au/complaints-form/ AND SHARE WITH YOUR NETWORKS!!!!!

On Sunday 14 June 2020, Peter Gleeson, a journalist for the Daily Telegraph, wrote that “The reality in this country - and the US - is that the biggest danger to aboriginals and n****es is themselves.”

This is blatantly false, violent hate speech. It is an offensive, insulting and humiliating act of racism. Gleeson must face consequences for peddling hate speech. Enough is enough. END WHITE SUPREMACY. The Racial Discrimination Act 1975 forbids hate speech on several grounds. The Act makes it "unlawful for a person to do an act, otherwise than in private, if the act is reasonably likely, in all the circumstances, to offend, insult, humiliate or intimidate another person or a group of people; and the act is done because of the race, colour or national or ethnic origin of the other person, or of some or all of the people in the group." FYI: an aggrieved person can lodge a claim with the Australian Human Rights Commission.

WE CALL ON THE AUSTRALIAN PRESS COUNCIL TO MAKE PETER GLEESON AND THE DAILY TELEGRAPH FACE THE CONSEQUENCES FOR THIS DISGRACEFUL ACT OF RACISM AND HATE SPEECH. WE DEMAND A PUBLIC APOLOGY FROM PETER GLEESON AND THE DAILY TELEGRAPH.

We also call on the Courier Mail and Sky News to terminate Gleeson's employment.
