I’m from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
The Edmonton police have reported the sexual assault rate per 100,000 people was 72, which is the second highest in Canada. That doesn’t include the assaults that are unreported. Everyday woman & young girls go through an obstacle going to work, school & home. We do not have any protection for ourselves, pepper spray is illegal here. I believe that if we are allowed to carry pepper spray that we could protect ourselves from dangerous situations, and could possibly save us of sexual assault, and also avoid girls, & woman’s from going missing. If Canada wants to keep girls and woman safe, they should make carrying pepper spray for girls/woman legal. We want to be safe in our city!
