With the recent departure of our part-time sustainability director Morgan Tietz, there is an urgency to fill her position. This opening presents a powerful opportunity for the administration to act in congruence with their values of sustainability. 

We believe the importance and responsibility of a Sustainability Director demands a full-time presence on campus. Having the role as only part-time limits the positions’ ability to enact change and oversee sustainable action at Muhlenberg College; Offering a part-time job does a disservice to the colleges’ + sustainability departments’ goals; Without a strong center for sustainability on campus, there is no consistent connection and communication between student and faculty initiatives. If sustainability is as much of a commitment as the college repeatedly claims, we need a full-time employee to lead in fulfilling their promises.
