recently, a google classroom post was assigned to mr. writtenberry’s ap chemistry students in which they were demanded to write a 2-3 page essay analyzing logical fallacies in online media. this breaks the eighth amendment of the constitution, which protects americans from cruel and unusual punishment, and will have devastating effects on these already psychologically depraved students. ap chemistry students have not felt joy in months as they have struggled to complete advanced coursework in many classes while balancing the college application process. many students have already taken classes like ap research and on-ramps rhetoric, in which these skills have already been practiced as well. this assignment is just a heavy burden of unnecessary work, and will only add more stress to a population of weak, starved, abused seniors just trying to graduate with some life left in their hearts.
