Making children more aware of mental health in general and their own mental health and what they can be doing will only have a positive impact in the future - saving lives, increasing people’s happiness and well being, and potentially reducing the amount of people requiring NHS mental health services in the future. which lets face it also needs some much needed funds. I myself have experienced a lack of care in this area despite reaching out for help.

Health should be taught holistically and mental health is intertwined with physical health, one influences the other.

Such an important part of life, everyone at some point will suffer with some kind of mental health issue, whether that be depression, anxiety, grief or a diagnosed illness. Encouraging openness, understanding and providing support for young people is so important and would help remove the stigma associated with mental health and hopefully would also encourage kindness.

I know far too many people who's children are suffering with mental health difficulties, eating disorders and suicide attempts. I have been really shocked by the poor mental health of our teenagers and I think it needs to be addressed.
