Masks.  The simple piece of fabric that covers over half of your face.  However, it has negative effects on students' well-being and social interactions.  For two years, kids and adults alike are mandated to wear masks to stay safe from COVID-19, however, recent studies have shown that masks have no positive effects on keeping people safe from coronavirus.  Summit Public Schools should make masks optional because this would be a huge step in getting back to normal.  COVID has carried on for 24 months and its time we take action to get our lives back!  Additionally, in Summit, the vaccination rates are so high that eliminating masks wouldn't have a negative effect on our community.
