Hi my  name is Cindy and I  have struggled with low vision from birth.  Because of this I am unable to drive  and need help  getting out into the community  and have no friends or family in the area to do this.  And I currently Live  on my own  and can do most everything  for myself  except driving  and getting out to meet people and make friends.  I live in a small town  And  County where I live doesn’t have  any accessible  services or  decent public transportation to  allow me to do the things I need to get done.  Or even to get out of the house to go to the beach or do anything I’d like to do.  Because of this I currently suffer from anxiety and depression.  At one point I had services  and qualified for IDD  before my mom‘s passing  and tell they changed the rules to where you have to have  A  mental diagnosis such as down syndrome or  autism to qualify. So  now I can’t get services because  I don’t have an IDD diagnosis  and all the available services are IDD only.  And there are no other  services for the blind or visually impaired  other than just getting technology  or visual aids and  i’m sure anyone in my  position  would need someone to actually help them with  certain things.  And being stuck in the house all the time  is not good for anyone’s physical or mental Health.
